Venue Feature: Boston Marriott Burlington

Vendor Feature: This month our vendor feature is the beautiful and newly renovated Boston Marriott Burlington in Burlington, MA. We got a chance to chat with Event Planner, David Bransfield, who we frequently work with about why he loves what he does!

Check out our one-on-one interview with David:

Why should a bride or groom choose your venue to get married? Our Hotel just finished a huge renovation. The classic-modern style of our Great Room and function spaces greet you immediately as you enter the front doors with expansive views of our main floor. The design team truly brought the city to the suburbs. The Celebrate Ballroom is extremely versatile, and comprises of 9,000 square feet of available space. Perfect to accommodate events of all different sizes. With our highly acclaimed culinary team, the Burlington Marriott offers dining of all different arrangements. Before your wedding in our Ballroom, you could host your rehearsal dinner, or morning after brunch in our brand new Chopps dining room. If you are looking for a venue where you can do it all; dine, dance, and dream, then look no further than the Burlington Marriott.

What is your favorite part of a wedding? I love how every wedding is different! When detailing each wedding with our couple’s I get the opportunity to know their individual personalities. It is amazing how no two weddings are ever the same. Plus, after spending so much time with our couples, and talking about the details, and seeing things come together little by little, the best part is the grand reveal. Once the ballroom doors open, I look directly at the couple to see their reaction. What they have been dreaming of, is now a reality, and every time the reaction is what I look forward to the most.

What makes your venue different from others? With only having the one ballroom on property, we can only accommodate one large wedding at a time. Getting all of the attention to yourself, on your special day, who wouldn’t want that?

How many weddings have you worked with NuImage Entertainment at? We have worked with NuImage more times than I can even remember. They are a fantastic company to work with, and I cannot think of one time that I have referred a contact to NuImage who wasn’t completely awed by their professionalism and talent. With NuImage growing in their offered services, I can only hope to be working with them more often.

What is your best memory from working with NuImage? Every event. Because each event is different in nature, it is always a surprise to see which DJ from NuImage will be paired with our couples. They pick the DJ’s to fit the particular personalities of the couple. I have not met a DJ from NuImage who hasn’t completely delivered an incredible outcome for our couples. Let’s be honest, if the entertainment is subpar, the guests will remember. In turn, our contact will contact me with the disappointing news. Every event is flawless with NuImage they are entertainers I can trust and extremely easy to work with.

What’s your advice to any bride and groom during their wedding? You only get married once for a reason! The process can be stressful, and at some point, you will look at your fiancé and say, let’s elope. Have fun! Don’t stress, and take your time. At the end of the day, this is YOUR day, so don’t let other’s spoil that for you. And on the day of your wedding, remember this same idea. This will inevitably feel like the fastest day of your life, and it will be over before you know it, enjoy your day!

Client Spotlight – The Emersons

Emerson Wedding-165
Nuimage Entertainment – Client Spotlight  Kathy and Walter got married this past Summer at the gorgeous Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA.  DJ Billy Powder provided the entertainment for their seaside nuptials as guests danced the night away.  We got a chance to chat further with bride, Kathy, about the decision making process to booking a DJ vs. a band and even got her advice for future brides-to-be.  Thanks for letting us be apart of your big day – we had a blast!

Keep reading to get an insider look at the planning process and what made their day so special –

Q: How long did it take you to plan your wedding?
A: About a year, but we took our time and spread the planning out so as not to get overwhelmed.

Q: At what point in the planning did you decide to use a DJ vs. band?
A: We knew from the start that we wanted a DJ based on the vibe we wanted to have at our reception.

Q: Why did you choose a DJ vs. a band?
A: We chose a DJ due to the amount of variety of music we would have versus a band who typically stays in one genre.

Q: How did you hear about NuImage Entertainment?
A: My sister and two close friends hired NuImage for their weddings and we had a blast at each one.

Q: What was your favorite part about working with NuImage – before and during your wedding?
A: The whole contract process was extremely easy especially since NuImage’s prices were very reasonable and they offered many additional options that could be added up until right before our wedding, such that we were able to wait to see what the rest of our wedding budget looked like before adding uplighting a few months before and I’m so glad we did because it added some great colors to our pictures at the reception. During our wedding Billy made sure to keep us updated throughout the reception about what we were going to do next and continuously asked if there were any changes we wanted to make which there were based on time. Billy was so flexible and offered some great suggestions to get all the special moments we wanted to have and everything turned out perfectly!

Q: What were a few WOW moments from your big day?
A: One of my favorite moments was when Billy got all our guests out of their seats to kick off the dancing portion of our reception. My husband and I were at our sweetheart table and had a great view of all our favorite people in the world up and dancing around having such a great time with huge smiles on their faces, it’s a memory that I’ll never forget! And then dance floor was packed the entire night from that moment on, everyone kept coming up to us saying how much fun they were having 🙂 Billy also helped us modify the garter/bouquet toss to incorporate a special birthday surprise for our best man and the outcome was absolutely great!

Q: What is your advice for future brides?
A: While at your reception take a step back by yourself every now and then to just take it all in. I did and those are some of the best memories I could ever ask for that will forever be engrained in my mind.

Holiday Wedding Ideas

The holiday season is RIGHT around the corner and personally we cannot wait for all the Christmas, Hanukah and New Year’s Eve themed weddings we will be DJing.  To celebrate this fun time of year we thought we would talk about some of our favorite holiday ideas that you can implement into your wedding.  Plus, we provide some killer uplighting for any holiday event, so have some experience in using lights during the holidays!

Unique Desserts: Who needs cake when guests can enjoy cookies and milk just like Santa does every Christmas Eve!

Festive Decor: One way to make it feel like the holidays is to deck out the tables and reception hall with tasteful holiday decorations! We love this look of bringing in some of the natural beauty of the outdoors inside. Plus, this is a great way to save money on decorations.

Reusable Favors: We are LOVING these simple yet elegant ornament favors.  Very clever!  If you purchase them a year ahead of time you can probably find some great off-season deals.

DIY Table Center Pieces: It’s true… you can create beautiful and festive center pieces without breaking the bank.  The mason jars can be made by using glitter and Mod Podge glue, while the candle holders are simple enough to do it yourself.

Uplighting: We truly believe that good uplighting can make a HUGE difference in your reception look and feel, especially if it’s during the holidays.  Adding some simple reds, blues, and possibly green could add some great ambiance to your special day.  You can learn more about our uplighting skills by clicking here.

Honeymoo tips-01

At NuImage Entertainment we love everything about weddings and that includes taking a honeymoon. We all want to go on a glamorous and fabulous honeymoon, but lets face it, money may be tight after saying “I Do.” Celebrating your nuptials with your new husband or wife does’t have to break the bank to be special, memorable and unique.  Today we’re talking about some creative ideas that will have you dashing off to your honeymoon without throwing money out the window.

NuImage Entertainment Honeymooning Tips:

Travel Off-Season: You can always score great airline and hotel deals when you travel to locations off-season. Sure there may be a risk with weather, but who cares when you will be in the hotel room most of the time 😉

(explore the cheapest flights for your honeymoon HERE)

Stay-Cation:  Yes, you may not be jetting off on a place to a far away land but you’re getting the alone time with your sweetie… which is all that matters!  Book a hotel room in your a local city, get brunch, take in the sites and indulge in spa services to make it extra special.

(use and to find hotel and spa deals)

Rent a house over a hotel:  Renting a house is always a cheaper option for any vacation. By renting a house or apartment it allows you to cook a few meals, hence saving a lot of money.

(Our favorite websites for booking a apartment or house are Airbnb & VRBO)
